How a hospital lift differs from a passenger lift

The governing constraint is the stretcher, not the headcount. Two details are considerably less expensive to specify at manufacture than to retrofit: protective bumper rails at trolley height, and a handrail on the long wall. Antimicrobial finishes on control panels and handrails can also be specified where infection control policy requires it.
